Easter Memories & Ones They Don't Want to Remember!

Musical feet!

Much needed nap before the big feast.

Why does Mommy look so tired?!

After dinner conversation with Uncle Byron.

After dinner drink with Auntie Liping.

Our first Easter together was very nice. Auntie Liping made a wonderful meal, which I should be able to enjoy next Easter! Mommy & Daddy made Easter eggs but forgot them at the Yip's, so no pictures.

My Mom & Dad have been pushed to the limits of their patience the past few days. My fussiness has hit a new high; I am hoping this is the 'peak' of it and will get better soon. Daddy is in Montreal this weekend working, so he's escaped for a short time. Mommy worries she may go for a walk and not come back when Baba & Granpa Gus visit on Thursday!!

Fun at the park

We went for a nice walk at Fish Creek Park today. Auntie Isabelle joined Mom on her first run in a year! Daddy walked with me in the stroller & in the Snugli; he even ran a bit with the girls. Mommy said she hurt a lot & she coughed most of the afternoon! She looks forward to getting me into the running stroller very soon. I'll leave the running to her, I much prefer napping in the great outdoors!

Mommy & Daddy had a scare Monday and spent the afternoon at Children's Hospital with me. While Mommy was feeding me I had what looked like a little seizure. I was responsive afterwards but the nurse from Health Link said it's best to see a doctor. The doctor was not very concerned and said to monitor me (Mommy knew that would be the answer!); it may never happen again which is good or if it does they will need to do more tests. My blood glucose was normal and we are waiting for my urinalysis results (I didn't appreciate having a bag attached to my privates!) but I'm sure all will be a-okay. I know Mom would have been more than happy to have my head scanned right away!

My First Fever

Mommy woke around 5:00am this morning to discover I was a little too toasty in my crib. I really hadn't settled from my 2:00am feeding so Mommy suspected something was amiss. She took my temperature and it was 37.6; a mild fever that lowered with Tylenol. Thankfully it's stayed normal all day... I wish Mom would stop sticking that beeping thing in my armpit! I've slept a lot but had some good playtime, too. I suppose it was the influenza vaccine as it was a new one for me. Mom doesn't get too upset as I'm cuddly when I'm not feeling so good. Off to the tub I go!

Needles? No problem!

I wowed Mom & Dad this afternoon by being such a tough boy while receiving three needles! The nurse was very quick, Mom held me tight and Dad made funny faces for me. I barely cried and actually laughed just seconds afterwards when Mom & Dad danced with me. The nurse was very impressed that I flashed her my most cutest smiles even thought she poked me with those ouchy needles! Mom told her that after all the other pokes I've had to endure in my first nine weeks of life a few IM injections are a piece of cake. We also talked to the nurse about starting solid foods. She called a dietician who happened to remember me from the PLC; Mom said "who could forget Alex?!". She will send us some new info on feeding preemies but said to start no later than 7 months. So, as soon as I start showing more interest in food Mom & Dad will offer me rice cereal... fun times are ahead! We also talked about my diarrhea but I will spare you that topic. I must say, though, that yesterday I had Mommy all flustered as my poo was EVERYWHERE on me & she didn't know where to start. She put me in the tub, got me all clean and then just as she was getting my clothes ready I spit up all down the front of my nice clean skin (and on her... hee, hee!). Mommy just laughed at me!

I cuddled and napped with Mom & Dad all afternoon; I get very snuggly after my vaccinations. Mommy enjoys it as I'm not normally as cuddly as she'd like!

6 Months Already!

I turned 6 months old on Saturday! It was a pretty low key affair, we drove to Bragg Creek in the afternoon. Basically Mom just got a latte & then we drove back to the city. I slept most of the way as I usually do.
Sunday was an exciting day. I made my first 'eating' motions while I watched Mommy eat soup. I was fascinated by her putting soup on the spoon, opening her mouth wide and chewing! Soon Mom & Dad will introduce solids... they just have to find out when. In the past couple days I have been trying to roll over from my back to tummy. I make it to my side which is very fun! Mom thinks I will roll over very soon. Everything I grab now goes into my mouth, it's great! Mommy makes so much fuss about the kitty hair & fuzz & stuff, though, always wiping my hands and mouth. For the past week I've been waking just once overnight to eat. I don't know why Mom is so happy about that!
I'm receiving my 6 month vaccinations today and Mom & Dad suspect I will be a brave boy like all the other times. I will then sleep most of the afternoon & be sleepy tomorrow, too.

Me, me, me

Here are some pictures of me from last week. Mommy & me survived the four days without Daddy last week!

How time flies!

It was a year ago today that Mommy & Daddy found out about me!

Daddy's First Time Away

Hey Dad, I'm ticklish there!

Out for the count.

Me & my friend here are havin' a little discussion!

I went to my first hockey game yesterday. Mom & me watched Daddy play very hard. Okay Mommy watched & I slept. Daddy left for work this morning & will come back on Thursday. Mommy would love for me to sleep longer overnight but I just like to eat! So Mommy warned Daddy about what she might look like when he returns.
