Gosh...

Montreal

Aw, Mom!

Daddy's Number One Fan!!

I could do this all day!

Yeah, Mom, you're in my way!

Well, almost a month since my last post but Ive been busy, busy, busy... just as a one year old should be! We are all pretty much settled in our new house and enjoy the space, peace and quiet. I pretty much know every nook & cranny as I'm quite the explorer.

Most of September was spent in Quebec. We travelled with Baba & Granpa; it was there first time to Quebec. We toured lots but also enjoyed lots of R & R. It was a great time but Mommy & Daddy are done with travelling for awhile... we've done six trips since the end of May!! It's time to enjoy home now as Mommy goes back to work in just a week :( Dad & I are going to have so much fun while Mom's away!

I visited my pediatrician last week and found out I am 20lbs & doing very well. She says I am pretty much doing everything a 12 month old should & is impressed with all I can do! I am slowly making the transition to whole milk from formula which makes Mom & Dad very happy... that's a lot of extra $$$ a month for other things... for me, of course!

I spend most of my time playing, crawling lots, cruising lots, and chasing the cat. Mom bought me a walker so I've been practicing walking in the back yard. I like to flip it over & toss it around, too! I've stood many times on my own, teetering for a few seconds before landing on my nicely diaper-padded bottom! Soon I will walk, soon.

First Birthday

Let me at it!

Mmm... mushy

Just bring it closer!

That's better

Yum... what's this sugary taste?!

Mom & Dad had Uncle Byron, Auntie Liping and cousin Julianne over for a little cake for my first birthday. It was great to get my hands in there... I love mushy stuff between my fingers! Auntie fed me dinner and Uncle & Daddy smoked cigars outside (and they smelled when they came back in the house!). It was a fun afternoon! Next week I'll be having a party in Victoriaville with both sets of grandparents, Auntie Patricia and some friends. Hopefully I'll nap before that one!

Sunday

It won't go the right way! Hello pussycat!

All dressed for a fall walk in our new neighbourhood.

Beaver Dam Flats, a beautiful riverside park near our house.

Mommy says she bought the pumpkin for me, but we know the truth!

Hanging out... something we couldn't do downtown!

New home!

Boxes, boxes and more boxes!

Enjoying one last cookie before we say goodbye to our apartment.

Our new home!

Checking out the backyard.

Downtown in the north... bye, bye noise, crack addicts, rude people and tiny apartment!!

Phew! After a stressful week of packing and a weekend of moving, we are now in our new home. This past week has been just bliss... lots of room to play, new places to discover and good ol' peace and quiet. I love the new kitchen, with new cupboards to get into, and my very own room with space for all my things. We are just a few steps to the network of city pathways and, if we wanted to, could walk downtown! Not likely. Perhaps bike next summer.

Mom & Dad have been bust setting up our new house. They got a huge head start because of Baba & Granpa! Thank goodness for grandparents... who I get to see, by the way, in just two days when we travel to Quebec together... oh la vache!!

Kelowna, again!

Right out of Baba & Granpa's garden. I'll eat it as is, thank you very much!

A little too young for the wine tour, I opted to play on the grounds of Mission Hill.

In the vineyard of Mission Hill.

I can go up the stairs, next will be learning to go down... safely!

Fun in the Sun

My first trip to the beach... not too sure about it!

I'm sure I'll appreciate the beach much more next summer.

Mastering the 'sippy cup'.

Checking things out at the Calgary airport.

Busy, busy, busy

Gosh, where to begin? It's been a busy summer for the Brochu's! After a trip to Quebec, Prince George and a few hikes, we headed back to Kelowna for almost two weeks... well, I did anyways. Mom & Dad went to Michelle & Simon's wedding in Victoria so I got to spend a few days alone with Baba & Granpa! It was so much fun... I played lots & made sure Baba & Granpa were busy from the crack of dawn until bedtime. I started consistently sleeping through the night while there... 11 hours straight! Mommy & Daddy say "YAY!!".

In just two weeks we'll be moving to a new place where we hope to enjoy some peace & quiet. Downtown has not been good for us, especially after the latest shooting yesterday just a block away from our home. Mom & I were interviewed by Global TV this afternoon while returning from the park. I hope they got my good side... wait a minute, all my sides are good!

We go back to Kelowna this weekend for a little family reunion. I will meet my great Aunts & Uncle! Daddy will also get to know Baba's side of the family.
